Sacred Cow. egg tempera on board. Over the past year I have been exploring the combining of both European and Indian visual cultures in my work. Cows are worshiped as a source of religious sanctity in India, and by depicting this subject matter in the style of European religious paintings – replacing Indian vibrance with heavy chiaroscuro - provides a striking duality.
